Haulage services
Loaden Haulage provides fully-compliant DAF and Scania tractor units with qualified, DCPC-current HGV drivers, available to couple to client trailers and maintain service continuity. The arrangement is suited to single-day cover, peak-season capacity and long-term contracted operations, delivering operational capacity without the capital cost or recruitment overhead of in-house fleet expansion.
Commercial benefit
The acquisition and operation of a tractor unit represents a significant capital investment before any revenue is generated. Traction-only haulage provides an alternative structure: the client retains its trailers, brand identity and customer relationships, while Loaden Haulage supplies the tractor unit, driver, fuel, road fund licence, insurance and underlying compliance. Cost is incurred only against productive work.
This model is well-suited to seasonal capacity expansion, cover for vehicles undergoing maintenance, and proving new operational lanes before committing to in-house fleet investment.
Compliance
All tractor units deployed on traction work are maintained to manufacturer specification, plated and MOT-current, and rated to Euro 6 emissions standards for unrestricted access to low-emission and clean air zones. Drivers hold current Category C+E entitlement, in-date DCPC certification and clean licences. Driver recruitment, vetting and training are managed directly by Loaden Haulage, rather than via agency providers.
Tachograph compliance, drivers' hours, walk-around inspections and defect reporting are administered centrally, ensuring that operator licence responsibility remains with Loaden Haulage rather than the client organisation.
Contract structure
Traction requirements vary in duration and complexity, and contract structures are configured accordingly. Available arrangements include ad-hoc day rates for single-day cover, weekly hire for forecast peaks, and dedicated contract traction with named units and committed driver pools. Loaden Haulage operates tractor units rated for tipper, curtainsider, walking floor and box trailer combinations.
Detailed proposals are prepared in consultation with the client, taking into account loading windows, route coverage and existing expenditure on agency and sub-hire arrangements, to identify potential commercial improvements without compromising service levels.
When our in-house traction is short, Loaden are the first call. Units arrive presentable, drivers are properly inducted, and the compliance side stays with them — not pushed back on us. That is exactly how sub-hire should work.
Traction haulage
Loaden Haulage will provide a day rate, weekly rate or contract proposal as required, supported by a transport partner that operates client trailers to the same standard as its own fleet.
